Good bye

Good bye is the best word
In our English dictionary
Few know its significance
Those who do are blessed

Our lives are so cluttered
Useless things 'n routines
But we just keep clinging
To fill naked void within

Through years they grow
Till lives becomes a dump
Only death relieves burden
The weight of all unwanted

But instead if we had learnt
To say goodbye a bit earlier
Parted ways without anger
We'd have given little space

Then world'd be better place
Lesser conflicts, more peace
Lot more truth, a lot less lies
Fewer tears, genuine smiles

My last poem

I have been trying to write
My last poem for quite long
Something to finish it off all
All stifled emotions of mine

But each time there's been
Something remaining cold
And I wrote another poem
Another angle for the goal

Lets see if this poem can be
Really the last poem I write
Is there a point continuing
This battle for completion?

Funny all the things I have
Written about so far along
Past love which was a farce
Nature with windows closed

Behind all the surreal vibes
I could never hide the empty
No metaphor could change
Reality the way it really is

My poetry losing its point
Words needn't be wasted
Only with void is bit hope
My silence can sing more

So I challenge myself
You be my last poem
My one last romance
Guarded by the void

My last poem
My last love
My last muse
My last song

Torn shoes

In a swank office
With carpet floors
But my shoes torn

In client meetings
Making dollar deals
But hair uncombed

Shiny macbook pro
Imported stationery
But I sleep on floor

Office get togethers
Posh food and wine
Fasting on weekends

The highs and lows
Tells me otherwise
Irony my true forte

Waiting room

Here's a poem inspired from 'Ijaazat' movie...

Waiting Room

Were we just friends?
Then there'd never be
Any deep heartbreak

Nor were we lovers
Circumstances kept
Us always far apart

Then what were we?
Possibly passengers
At the waiting room

Waiting for different
Trains to destinations
Sharing a cup of tea

A short break between
Separate journeys we
Shared some chit chat

Then your train came
You boarded on time
I got lost, missed mine

I stayed back overnight
For next train to come
Thoughts for company

Remember

I remember lots of things
How we first met, talked
Places and things shared

But in all these memories
Somehow you are missing
As if it was an imagination

A story without characters
Ghost town without people
A broken log floating a sea

Then what is there to hold
But a few material objects
To remind the forever lost

So I take these pages from
The tattered book of mind
Drop them to unconscious

The ocean with no bottom
A place too deep to fathom
Where the undead survive

Beer

Mug of cold beer
Golden and bitter
Are you my friend
Or really an enemy

I had despised you
For such long time
But strangely I've
Found an affinity

When with people
And I'm so bored
You give bit respite
Let me remain me

You make horrible
Oily starters ordered
Bearable or I'll puke
Let time pass faster

So I'll be back home
Alone and in peace
Where I never need
Beer's sly company

Poetry from Interstellar

I'll be taking a break from writing for a while.
Been a bit to overwhelmed and facing a burnout.

Sharing a poem by Interstellar movie which
really inspired me... written by Dylan Thomas.

"Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night."
